Greek Myths

Greek mythology is full of amazing and passionate stories to be told. Atlas, Medusa, Hercules and Zeus are just some of their immortal characters living in those myths. If you ask me my favorite one is the legend of Perseus, a demigod who defeated Medusa, cut her head off and saved the world.

Despite many interesting my favorite Greek myths is that of the goddess Aphrodite. The fact that Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty, tradition is said to be daughter of Zeus and Dione, and also said it was a beautiful woman who dazzled many people. In my opinion is a legend very interesting and also very entertaining which makes us more interested in Greek mythology.

poseidon god is the son of cronos and titánide Rea and brother of zeus and hades.
Poseidon was often shown standing on the waves or in a car consists of a giant snail and driven by sea horses, it was always followed by fish and dolphins. The emblem chosen by the god was the horse, who always said that this animal had been created by him. His only weapon was the trident, with which stirred the waters and could sink ships. by:victor iturra

The Greek myth that I like is the struggle of the gods against the Titans because the myth tells how the gods took their revenge on the Titans and how they got their powers.

My Favorite Greek Myth is about Persephone and Hades :
The goddess Persephone was the only daughter of Zeus and Demeter (the goddess of grain, agriculture, and fertility), she was an innocent maiden, a virgin who loved to play in the fields where eternal springtime reigned. But Hades had other plans for Persephone: He would steal her innocence and virginity and turn her into the dreaded goddess of the Underworld.
Legend has it that the origin of the Spring begins with the rape of Persephone ; when she was taken to the underworld, the flowers were grieved and died, but when she returns, flowers reborn for the joy that causes the return of the girl. As the presence of Persephone in the land becomes cyclical, the birth of flowers does too.
Moreover, during the time that Persephone is kept away from her mother, Demeter , as the wife of Hades, the land becomes barren and sad, thats when comes the winter season.

Pandora's box is my favourite. It's about this gifted woman named Pandora and she's given a box with bad stuff in it and she opens it.

The Greek myth that I like is of the Narcissus. He was the son of the river God: Cephsius and Liriope, a water nymph. When he was born, a psychic told his parents he couldn't see his reflection never. But when he was 16 years older a unrequited love, let him see his reflection in a lake, out of spite. Since that day he went crazy because the person was very beautiful and never left the lake, which showed him his own reflection. That is the reason why now occupies the term narcissism to refer to a person egomaniac.

Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty, and is identified in Rome with the ancient Italic deity Venus. According to a tradition is the daughter of Uranus and according to another of Zeus and Dione.
the goddess was especially known for his cursing and anger, as when someone fell into the misfortune of offending the goddess, were condemned to horrible tortures. For example, Aurora punished the unbridled love for Orion, having yielded to the seductions of Ares. Also punished all women of Lemnos, since they do not honor, and impregnated with an unbearable stench that caused his men to abandon them. Similarly punished Cinyras daughters and forced into prostitution with foreigners.

On the other hand, fall into grace was equally or more dangerous. When Discord threw an apple to the fairest of the goddesses, and made to compete Aphrodite, Athena and Hera, and Zeus decided that it was Alexander (Paris, the Trojan hero) that define who the most beautiful, each offered a gift in exchange for the choosing. Athena offered him invincible in war do, Hera promised him the kingdom of the universe, and Aphrodite the hand of Helen (daughter of Zeus and sister of Castor and Pollux), who was the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris chose Aphrodite, and this promise was the beginning of the famous Trojan War.

My Favorite Greek Myth is Apollo, son of Zeus and Leto. It belongs to the second generation of Olympian gods. Twin brother of Artemis. It was the most revered god Zeus of Greece after. He is the god of arts, presided over the oracle of Apollo at Delphi. Although never married, their offspring is large, composed mainly of heroes associated with the cult of Apollo.

There is also a prayer to Apollo: "Oh, Apollo! I beg you to be conducive to peace, long life and health of all this family, and also be conducive to the peace of my son." His oracles were expressed in general formula-versed and was believed to inspire both the poets and seers. Share this inspirational role with Dionysius, but is distinguished from Apollonian Dionysian because it is more measured. A gradually became the god of the Orphic religion, and his name is associated with a half all religious, moral half, which promised its initiates salvation and eternal life. frequently put on related doctrines.
